New Hope Preschool Is Now Less Expensive

Friends, we have good news. Due to a change in our legal status, the cost for children to attend New Hope Preschool has decreased significantly. Savings can be realized in three ways.

  1. The 10% consumption tax no longer applies for any preschool fees. This immediately saves all families an average of about 5,000 yen per month.
  2. New Hope Preschool is approved for “mushoka” (free child care program) for families who need child care as determined by their city or ward of residence. This covers up to 37,000 yen per month.
  3. With our new legal status, families are more likely to receive other financial support. This varies by family situation and municipality of residence. Ask your city or ward office for more information.

Please help us spread the good news that quality Christian education in English just got more affordable. If you have any questions, we are happy to help.

New Hope Preschool Mission

"Partnering with families to build a foundation of faith, character, and skill for a lifetime of joy and purpose."

Core Values

Our mission flows from the following core values:

  • God creates children in his image, and places them in families for their nurture and growth. Families (specifically parents) have primary responsibility for their children’s education.

  • Young children have vast moral, intellectual, spiritual, social, and physical capacities which can and should be developed.

  • Showing the love of God in Christ through the teachings of the Bible and the examples of good role models is the best way to nurture young ones.

  • Each child has unique gifts and interests that should be encouraged.

  • Exposure to foreign language and culture at a young age will serve people throughout their lives.

  • An environment of joy and excellence (not perfection!) in early childhood will foster a lifestyle of joy and excellence as children grow up.

Methods

We put our mission statement into practice as follows:

"Partnering with families"

We maintain strong partnership with families through letters, conferences, parents' classes, special events, and ceremonies.

"to build a foundation of faith,"

Children learn about God's plan for salvation in Christ and how to live in relationship with God and others through Bible stories, prayer, and practical application of Bible themes.

Children especially learn that they are created in God's image and are uniquely gifted to serve God and their communities.

"foundation of character,"

Through teaching and interaction with teachers and classmates, children grow in love, joy, peace, kindness, patience, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control. (The Bible, Galatians 5:22-23)

"and foundation of skill"

Children learn academic skills and acquire tools of learning so that they can succeed in elementary school.

Children develop physically by playing outside every day (weather permitting), participating in PE, and engaging in music and movement activities.

Children learn English and foreign culture through instruction and interaction with teachers and classmates.

Children learn decision-making and social skills through a variety of large-group, small-group, and individual activities, where real choices are given whenever appropriate.

"for a lifetime of joy and purpose."

In every decision we make regarding lessons, activities, classroom management, and even discipline, we ask ourselves how we can serve the older children, teenagers, and adults that our students are becoming.

We choose long-term benefits over quick and easy results, because God desires a lifetime of joy and purpose for our students.

Message from Talo Sataraka, Senior Pastor of New Hope Tokyo:

New Hope International Preschool is focused on the development of the whole child. Our goal is to prepare each child academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually through a hands-on interactive learning program. The curriculum is designed to create a "love for learning" in each child.  Our adventure begins with an intentionally loving and caring Christian atmosphere along with the introduction of basic Bible principles. Our teachers are all able and committed in creating an atmosphere not only for learning but also for the children to take what they've learned in the classroom and apply it at home.

We at New Hope International Fellowship are looking forward to helping you and your family find our school a joy and a place where the whole family can be encouraged.
